SHIMONOSEKI, Japan November 19 2007: Amid controversy and complaint, four Japanese ships left the southern port on Sunday heading for the Antarctic, and the largest whale hunt yet. They intend to kill up to 1,000 whales including 50 vulnerable, and protected, humpback whales. Humpbacks have not been hunted for more than 40 years since they were protected in 1963. LiveScience/AP
