LATIN AMERICA: NGOs Call for Regional Whale Sanctuary
VALPARAISO, Chile October 17 , 2007: Eight months before Chile hosts the annual meeting of the International Whaling Commission, Latin American conservation organizations have proposed a whale sanctuary in the nation's territorial waters. The proposal will be considered by the Environment Commission and then the Executive Branch.
